On Saturday, May 11, 2024, the Coolidge Corner Theatre presented director, writer, and producer Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow, We're All Going to the World's Fair) with the second-ever Coolidge Breakthrough Artist Award.
The Coolidge Breakthrough Artist Award was created to spotlight the next generation of filmmaking talent. As we look to our future we want to spotlight the bold and innovative film artists who represent the future of cinema.
Jane Schoenbrun joined the Coolidge in-person for a special screening of their new film I Saw the TV Glow, starring Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine. After the screening, they participated in a Q&A and was presented with the Coolidge Breakthrough Artist Award.

Jane Schoenbrun is a non-binary filmmaker and writer dedicated to making and supporting personal, queer cinema. Their work includes I Saw the TV Glow, We're All Going to the World's Fair, A Self-Induced Hallucination, and the punk rock variety TV show The Eyeslicer. Their first novel is almost finished, and their New Year's Resolution is to get more comfortable with silence.
