8 Days in August

Two happy families, a quiet beach and a house in the hills above the Adriatic Sea. It could be so perfect. But when teenager Finn has a breakdown it brings turmoil not only to the friendship between the families but also to the relationship between his parents Helena and Adam. Eight days in August that change everything.
About Samuel Perriard
Samuel Perriard (*1983) lives and works as an independent filmmaker in Zurich. After an apprenticeship as a structural draughtsman and a design degree at the ZHdK, he studied film directing from 2006 to 2013 at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). His graduation film Black Panther celebrated its world premiere in 2013 at the 31st Munich Film Festival, and the international premiere in 2014 at the 50th International Film Festival in Chicago and was nominated at the FIRST STEPS Awards 2013 and the STUDIO HAMBURG Young Filmmakers Award 2014 in the category of "First Feature Films".
He is a participant of BERLINALE TALENTS 2014 and ZFF Master Class 2014. His second feature film 8 Days in August, a Swiss-Italian co-production starring Julia Jentsch and Florian Lukas, was filmed in autumn 2021. The film will go on festival tour in summer/fall 2023 and will be theatrically released in spring 2024. In 2020, he co-directed the third season of the TV-series WILDER, and in winter 2023, he worked as 2nd Unit Director on Davos - a historical spy series. His latest short film Queen had its world premiere in January 2023 in the short film competition of the Max Ophüls Award. Lupus - a dystopian movie set in the mountains - is currently in development.
