Four from Hitchcock This July

Four of the best from the master of suspense.

Following May's multiple sold-out shows of Vertigo, we're bringing you screenings of four more of Alfred Hitchcock's finest works. Go on the run with Cary Grant across the country in North by Northwest, stay cooped up with James Stewart and Grace Kelly in Rear Window, hop aboard Strangers on a Train with Farley Granger and Robert Walker, and look to the skies for The Birds with Tippi Hedren. Tickets for all of these screenings are on sale now, so don't wait to get yours!

North by Northwest (on 35mm)

Monday, July 12 at 7:00pm

Cary Grant stars as a Madison Avenue advertising exec who is mistaken for someone else and kidnapped by a group of international spies, headed by James Mason. After a hair-raising escape, he is framed for a murder he didn't commit and goes on the run with Eva Marie Saint. Famous for a wild plane attack and a harrowing chase across the faces of Mount Rushmore, this is quintessential Hitchcock.

When professional photographer L.B. "Jeff" Jeffries (James Stewart) is confined to a wheelchair with a broken leg, he becomes obsessed with watching the private dramas of his neighbors play out across the courtyard. When he suspects a salesman may have murdered his nagging wife, Jeffries enlists the help of his glamorous socialite girlfriend (Grace Kelly) to investigate the highly suspicious chain of events... events that ultimately lead to one of the most memorable and gripping endings in all of film history.

Strangers on a Train (on 35mm)

Wednesday, July 14 at 7:00pm

A psychotic socialite (Robert Walker) confronts a pro tennis star (Farley Granger) with a theory on how two complete strangers can get away with murder—a theory that he plans to implement. Alfred Hitchcock enlisted writers including Raymond Chandler and Ben Hecht to adapt Patricia Highsmith's debut novel, crafting one of his finest thrillers.
