Please note
- The Coolidge requires all rentals to to comply with its Code of Conduct.
- Rentals are subject to availability.
- Because we are a first-run movie theatre with contractual obligations to film distributors we cannot rent any of our theaters between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening except for weekend mornings.
- Moviehouses 1, 2, and 5 usually require at least 3 months’ lead time to book; Moviehouses 3, 4, and 6 have more availability and book out 3–6 weeks in advance.
- The Coolidge Corner Theatre reserves the right to refuse any rental which it (in its sole and absolute discretion) determines is not consistent with its mission as a nonprofit cultural organization, may negatively impact its standing or reputation, or may present security concerns.

- Depending on the nature of the screening an additional fee may be charged to cover the projection team’s time as they prepare for your event.
Confirming your rental
Before a rental is secured and confirmed, or announced in any way, the following is required:
- Full completion of the Rental Inquiry Form
- For non-ticketed events: 100% of the rental fee (and estimated labor, as applicable)
- For ticketed events: 50% of the rental fee (and estimated labor, as applicable) is due at booking with the other 50% invoiced following the event
- Completed rental agreement form
- Completed photo or video release form (as applicable)
Kids' party info
Kids' Birthday movie parties are available for ages 6–15. Birthday party rentals are typically available Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00am–noon or 11:00am–1:00pm.
We can provide a child-size popcorn and soda at the concession stand per child for an additional $80.
There is space at the front of the room to accommodate a table for presents, cake, and other light foods. We provide a table at no additional cost. You must provide your own tablecloth, utensils, and paper goods.
Our helpful staff will be available to assist you with set up and any technical needs. We do not provide chaperones for the children—the parents and/or other adult supervision must be on hand. We can provide extra time for setup and cleanup for your party within the confines of our normal schedule.
