Seminar: The Night of the Hunter

Event Date
Monday, November 27th

Join Coolidge veteran instructor Kaj Wilson for an introduction to this genre-defying masterpiece.

With elements of fairy tale, horror, thriller, and melodrama, Night of the Hunter “makes us fall in love with an experimental cinema that truly experiments,” according to François Truffaut. Explore the history and reception of this southern gothic noir and the timeless charisma of Robert Mitchum as its predatory protagonist.

Long-time Coolidge Instructor Kaj Wilson served as Film Editor of The Improper Bostonian, followed by 12 years as Artistic Director of The Boston Jewish Film Festival. Awards include a Special Commendation by the Boston Society of Film Critics and the Image Award for Vision and Excellence by Women in Film and Video/New England. She's been a Robert Mitchum fan since she was 10 years old.
