In addition to screening newly released films, the Coolidge is proud to screen repertory films nearly every day of the week. Our robust special programming includes more than twenty signature programs and limited series that fall under six major themes:

Late-night programming for cinephile insomniacs with screenings of horrifying, weird, camp, avant garde, tripped-out, and cult films, often from 35mm prints.
Bringing your favorite throwbacks that you loved to watch over and over again back to the big screen! After every screening, join us for a Rewind! afterparty in the Education and Community Engagement Center for themed fun, food, and drinks!
Featuring everything from classics to concerts, musicals and cult titles, this film series celebrates your passion for movies and love of music. Often paired with a pre-show performance by a local band!
We offer various film education programs including multi-week classes focused on a particular subject, one-night seminars all about select films screening, and post-screening discussions.
One of our most popular programs, Science on Screen® creatively pairs screenings of classic, cult, and documentary films with lively introductions by notable figures from the world of science, technology, and medicine.
Our film and discussion series designed to increase the scope of our awareness, empathy, and humility around issues important to our community. Each screening is followed by a discussion and/or filmmaker Q&A.
In our new signature program in partnership with The Theater Offensive, we bring queer stories to the big screen accompanied by introductions and panel discussions.
Stage & Screen
Stage & Screen is a collaboration between the Huntington Theatre Company and the Coolidge that explores the depictions of shared themes in upcoming Huntington productions and acclaimed films.
Shakespeare Reimagined
Our signature program in collaboration with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company that takes an in-depth look at how some filmmakers have reimagined Shakespeare’s work to create compelling cinema that is as relevant today as it was over 400 years ago.
National Theatre Live (NT Live) is a groundbreaking initiative to broadcast the best of British theater to cinemas around the world, captured live in high-definition.

OnStage at the Coolidge
Live performances from a variety of exciting artists, on stage in our glorious Art Deco theatre.
