Body

Summer 1989, on the Baltic Sea. Hanna is not only a talented swimmer, but also ambitious.

She trains diligently in the GDR for even bigger championships and her dream is to become an Olympic champion. Her best friend Andreas, on the other hand, is anything but conformist. When he is targeted by the state and wants to flee across the Baltic Sea to the West, Hanna decides, after some hesitation, to accompany him. 50 kilometers of water separate them from freedom. And only a thin, connecting rope around their wrists saves them from absolute loneliness.
