Body

Set on a ranch in 1920s Montana, master filmmaker Jane Campion’s first Western is a rich story of longing, love, and betrayal.

The film features a magnetic lead performance ("a definitive career-best" — Indiewire) by Benedict Cumberbatch as rancher Phil Burbank, whose life is upended by the arrival of his delicate new sister-in-law (Kirsten Dunst) and her withdrawn teenage son (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

Winner of the Best Director Prize at the Venice Film Festival, The Power of the Dog marks a stunning return to form for Campion (The Piano).

FIVE STARS. "A masterful film. Jane Campion and her uniformly excellent cast create a constant sense of prickling intrigue. Benedict Cumberbatch gives a sly, blistering, career-best performance." — The Telegraph (London)
