As an expansion of various promotional events that local author Brian Coleman has undertaken since last fall, his latest foray into the Way Back Machine of our city is a 90-minute, Boston-centric program of wacky, rare and even occasionally culturally significant videos, gathered during Coleman’s various archival digs around the region.

Ranging from MTV / V66-style music videos by Boston artists to local access & talk show oddities, and long-forgotten TV commercials from the 1960s – 1980s, each presentation of the Buy Me, Boston Video Loft will be unique, with quick intros for each segment made on-stage by the author, alongside occasional invited guests.

About the Book

Although known to many as a hip-hop historian, Revere-based author Brian Coleman’s latest foray into publishing, Buy Me, Boston, marks a new direction in the writer’s approach. Instead of in-depth chapters focused around musicians, this time Coleman has turned his focus on his adopted hometown, celebrating the local businesses and businesspeople who made Boston thrive in the latter half of the 20th century.

The soft-cover, color interior book will be of interest to anyone who loves vintage advertising and the arts (especially rock, punk and R & B music), and those who miss the Boston of the late 20th Century. For more information, sample pages and a direct book order link, visit: www.BuyMeBoston.com
