One of Hollywood's greatest romantic comedies, Roman Holiday features a star-making—and Oscar-winning—turn from Audrey Hepburn, who plays a European princess looking to escape the confines of her regimented royal life.

On a diplomatic trip to Rome, Princess Anne escapes her royal retainers and soon crosses paths with jaded American journalist Joe Bradley, who, knowing a hot news story when he sees one, pretends that he doesn't recognize her and offers to give her a guided tour of Rome. Naturally, Joe hopes to get an exclusive interview, and just as naturally, ends up falling in love with her.
