Our staff has been hard at work the past year to adapt to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, to make the theatre safe for the Coolidge community. We ask that our patrons and staff adhere to the following guidelines and be aware of the steps we are taking to ensure everyone's health and safety. As the situation evolves, we will continue to adhere to the guidelines and standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local and state health authorities, and to the voluntary CinemaSafe guidelines developed by the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO).
Last updated Monday, August 30, 2021.
Beginning on Friday, September 3, visitors will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test for all screenings and events at the Theatre. You will need one of the following items to gain entry to the theatre:
- Physical vaccination card
- Photo of vaccination card, on phone or printed (photo must be legible)
- Digital vaccination record
- Negative COVID-19 test result (PCR only, within 72 hours)
- A Photo ID may be requested
Children under 12 who cannot yet be vaccinated may attend accompanied by a fully-vaccinated adult, and they must also wear a mask. Our existing mask policy will remain in place.
Full vaccination means two weeks after the final dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
If you have a ticket for a screening on Friday, September 3 (or beyond) but are unable to comply with this new policy, please contact us at email@example.com for a refund. Going forward, we will not provide refunds if you show up at the Theatre without proof of vaccination or negative test result.
Our seating is general admission at full capacity. All guests will be required to wear face masks that cover the mouth and nose throughout the building, except when seated inside the theaters while eating and drinking.
Hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the building, and are refilled throughout the day.
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, have been in contact with anyone known to have been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19, please cancel your visit to the theatre—we will fully refund your order.
Before you leave, consider using the restroom at home to reduce bathroom traffic at the theatre.
What’s Changed at the Coolidge?
We’ve upgraded our HVAC with high MERV-rated filters and new, state-of-the-art Continuous Infectious Microbial Reduction (CIMR) Systems technology. These new systems dramatically increase our air quality and filtration capabilities throughout the building, reducing viruses, bacterias, molds, and other pathogens in the air.
We’ve allotted extra staff time for enhanced cleaning of our theatres, restrooms, and common areas. Hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the building, and are refilled throughout the day. Signage has been posted throughout the building to direct traffic and remind visitors of our guidelines.
We’ve installed plexiglass barriers with help from The Makery at our concessions and bar counters to protect both staff and patrons.
