See it before, or after, watching Boorman and the Devil at BUFF!

As a much maligned, and possibly underrated, follow-up to one of the scariest movies of all time, Exorcist II: The Heretic deserves a second look!

Regan MacNeil, who was possessed by a demon in a prior life, is now a young teen and still trying to adjust to a sense of normalcy since relocating to New York City. While at a psychiatric institute she's visited by Father Lamont (Richard Burton) who's investigating the death of Father Lankester Merrin (Max von Sydow) from the previous film. Taking on the unenviable task of following up a bonafide horror classic, director John Boorman presents a no less terrifying tale of the neverending battle between good and evil that also serves as the best prerequisite for the making-of documentary Boorman and the Devil (screening Saturday!). - Billy Thegenus, BUFF Features Programmer
