The Church (1989)
In medieval times, a band of crusaders massacre a village of supposed devil-worshippers and build a large cathedral atop the mass grave to keep the evil sealed within.
But when a mysterious crypt is accidentally opened centuries later, a group of tourists and staff find themselves trapped inside the church with the spirits of the slaughtered and possessed by the demonic forces one-by-one. Legendary Italian horror maestro Dario Argento (Suspiria) presents this stylish shocker from director Michele Soavi (Cemetery Man), featuring an orgy of nightmarish visual effects and a memorable score from Goblin, Keith Emerson, and Philip Glass.
