Billy Brown is an ex-con, who hatches a preposterous scheme to try to impress his uncaring parents. 

On the day he is released from prison, Billy kidnaps Layla with the intention of bringing her home to visit his parents to be his loving wife. Layla plays her part with startling success, both of his parents are enchanted with her, but once again ignore their son. Feeling he has nothing else to live for, Billy plots another absurd scheme.
