Ravenous is a truly under-rated cannibal classic. Part western, part horror movie with a little bit of campiness thrown in for good measure, this film eats from the plates of multiple genres and never bites off more than it can chew.

Guy Pierce is captivating as the cowardly and quiet Captain Boyd, who has just been transferred to a fort in the Sierra Nevada's after surviving a particularly bloody battle of the Mexican-American War. When a near-dead traveler invades their solitude, Boyd and his misfit Fort-mates must battle the harsh winter as well as the appetite of a particularly menacing Robert Carlyle if they are to survive. "Eat to live, don't live to eat!"
