The Host (2006)
A creature plunges from the Han River Bridge into the river emerging on it's shores for a feeding frenzy upon onlookers.
When a young girl is snatched in the melee, her family set off to recover her from the monster that the government claims to be a host of an unidentified virus.
At the time of its release, The Host became the highest-grossing Korean film of all time, and established Bong Joon Ho (who would go on to direct Snowpiercer and Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner Parasite) as an international auteur to be reckoned with.
