RZA: Live from the 36th Chamber
Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA performs an epic live score to the Shaw Brothers martial arts masterpiece The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.
The award-winning musician, film composer, and director will be using a Wu-Tang catalog over two decades deep, as he drops beats from opening scene to closing credits, to amplify the action of Lau Kar Leung's martial arts classic. Following the screening, RZA will participate in a moderated audience Q&A*.
Long before he was a rapper and producer, RZA was an obsessive fan of kung fu movies. He first saw The 36th Chamber of Shaolin at the age of 12, and the film became a major influence on him. Now he's come full circle to combine two loves of his life: the aggressive instrumentals of hip-hop and the wild kinetics of martial arts.
