2hrs
Body

An Exclusive Premiere Screening and live Conversation with horror scholar Dr. Alison Peirse.

What happens when the woman knits in a horror film? What might the representation of knitting tell us about social and cultural expectations around gender, genre and age? What connection can be observed between crochet, gender, and illness in horror film?

Join special guest horror scholar and filmmaker Alison Peirse, PhD visiting from the UK to present the short essay film, Knit One, Stab Two (9:52) and the exclusive world premiere of an Ax Wound commissioned experimental companion piece, Crochet is Sick! (3 min).

After viewing both films take part in a moderated discussion and audience Q&A while simultaneously attempting to crochet! Crocheting is optional but if you’re interested in learning how before Sunday September 24th keep an eye on Ax Wound Film Festival's instagram where they will have free virtual workshops in September!
