Education Classes & Seminars

Film is an art form with the power not only to entertain, but also to inform, engage, and build community. The Coolidge is pleased to offer educational programming, using film as a window into other cultures, eras, and experiences.

We offer two kinds of film education programs: multi-week classes focused on a particular subject, and one-night seminars all about select films screening as part of the Big Screen Classics program.

Coolidge Education classes meet for approximately three hours once a week for anywhere from 4–6 weeks. Each class focuses on a particular subject, from the early films of Alfred Hitchcock to the Italian Neorealism movement. Class sessions are not sold individually, and you must sign up for the entire class to attend.

Want to learn more about some of your favorite classic films? At select events, sign up for a Coolidge Education one-night seminar. Tickets are $27.50 ($25.50 for Coolidge members and students) and include both a 30 minute lecture before the film and a reserved seat for the film screening.
