Seminar: Bram Stoker's Dracula

Event Date
Wednesday, December 11th
Body

Go beneath the seams of the gothic garbs from Academy Award-winning costume designer Eiko Ishioka (Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Cell) as we paint the screen red with blood and fashion.

Over the course of her fifty-year career, the craft and ethos of Eiko Ishioka’s work presents a uniquely dynamic visual language that transcends the limits of age, region, ethnicity, and gender. Spanning several mediums and notable collaborations that include Miles Davis, Björk, Francis Ford Coppola, Tarsem Singh, Cirque de Soleil, and The Olympic Games, Ishioka’s legacy explores transgressions of the body, rebirth, and adventure into new realms.

Focused primarily on her Academy Award-winning work in Bram Stoker’s Dracula from 1992, this seminar will unravel the inspirations and themes of her most sensual and fetishistic designs.
