Showgirls
The side of Vegas you were never meant to see.
Running from a troubled past, a young woman goes to Las Vegas to pursue her dream but has to accept the only job available: lap dancing at a seedy nightclub. There, she meets the reigning showgirl and a battle begins between the two women as they go to desperate lengths to find fame in Sin City. Widely rejected by critics and branded with an NC-17 rating upon its release, Paul Verhoeven's film has been reclaimed by many (including filmmakers Quentin Tarantino, Jim Jarmusch, and Jacques Rivette) in recent years as a satirical classic.
